Yasmina

Yasmina runs mainly in Class 5 races, which sit towards the lower end of the British racing ladder — these are competitive enough, but not the top tier. At that level, she has won 1 from 5, which works out at 1 in every 5 races, a reasonable return for a horse still finding her feet. Her recent form reads 4-2-1-5-4-3 going back through her last six races, with that 1 in the middle being the Plumpton win. The numbers either side of it show she is placing consistently, which means she is running well without always getting the spoils — frustrating, but also encouraging. She finished second in her most recent run, just one day ago, so she is clearly in good shape right now.

She is trained by Andy Irvine out of Ashurstwood in East Sussex, a yard that has sent out 4 winners this season. Plumpton — her favourite track so far — is a local course, barely twenty minutes up the road, and that familiarity may well be part of why she performed there. Irvine's team will know her well by now, and with a horse in form and racing frequently, another win at the right trip is far from out of the question.
