That second-place finish from six races ago remains the high-water mark, and the two seventh-place efforts either side of the better results suggest consistency is still a work in progress.

Clive Cox is a highly respected trainer based in Lambourn — one of the heartlands of British racing — and his yard has already sent out 48 winners this season alone, which is a serious operation by any measure. The fact that Cox has kept Whizzy Dizzy in training suggests there is something worth persevering with. Having raced as recently as yesterday, this is clearly an active campaign, and with a yard firing at that rate, a change of luck may not be far away.
