The recent form is the most interesting part of the story right now. In the last six races, Vape has won twice and finished second twice more — that means four finishes in the top two from six attempts, a purple patch that suggests the horse is in the form of its life. For context, those two wins in six races outpaces its overall career average considerably, and the last victory came at Chepstow in August 2025. A horse winning races at nine years old is not common. Most have retired or faded long before that.

The home of Vape's best racing, though, is Windsor. Three wins from just eight races there amounts to a 38% win rate at that particular track — a number that is genuinely striking when you consider the horse wins roughly 1 in 7 races overall. Something about that circuit suits Vape in a way most tracks simply do not. The horse's first career win came at Windsor back in April 2022, and it has never stopped performing there.

Ground conditions matter too. On normal ground Vape wins around 1 in every 4 races — 3 wins from 13. On slightly soft ground the record gets even better: 2 wins from just 5 attempts, a 40% hit rate. Those are the conditions to watch for.

The operation behind the horse is a small yard in Kenfig Hill, Bridgend, run by John and Rhys Flint, who have sent out seven winners already this season — a solid return for a stable of their size. Regular jockey William Cox has ridden the horse in 22 of its 50 races, winning twice together. That partnership might not look spectacular on paper, but this is a horse that demands patience and persistence — and both horse and rider seem to have that in abundance.
