The five-year-old has had its share of big moments too. That first career win came at Ascot on 22 June 2023, and it wasn't just any race — it was a Class 1, one of the top races in Britain. Winning on your debut at the highest level, at one of the most famous tracks in the world, is as good an opening statement as a racehorse can make. It suggests Valiant Force has genuine ability, the kind that can hold its own in elite company.
Ground conditions matter here. On normal ground, Valiant Force has won 5 of 14 races — just over 1 in 3 — which is a seriously impressive ratio. When the surface suits, this horse delivers. That selectivity is worth knowing.
The current picture is a little less rosy. Six races without a win, and recent finishing positions of 7th, 13th, 9th, 9th, 10th, and 5th tell a story of a horse that has been running into brick walls lately. Its last victory came at Dundalk in February 2026, five months ago now. Jockey David Egan, who partners Valiant Force most often, has managed 2 wins from 13 races together — wins 1 in every 6 or 7 rides — so even their partnership hasn't cracked the code recently.
De Aguiar's yard is in good form this season with 16 winners already sent out, so the infrastructure is there. What Valiant Force needs is a return to Dundalk, normal ground underfoot, and a bit of the magic that made it special in the first place. The ingredients exist. It's just a question of when they come together again.
