The partnership with jockey Joe Fanning has been the engine behind most of it. In five races together, they have won four — an 80% win rate, which is extraordinary by any standard. That is not a coincidence; it is a working relationship that suits the horse. The trainer's assistant Steve Brown explained after her first win at Beverley in April 2025 that she carries a high cruising speed and that Fanning is exceptionally good at dictating from the front. In other words, she likes to lead and he knows how to let her. When that plan clicks, very few can live with her.
Julie Camacho trains her from a yard in Norton, North Yorkshire, that has sent out 49 winners this season alone — a productive operation by any measure. Camacho has spoken warmly about the horse's trajectory, noting she has won five of her last six races and is still improving. The team's approach is deliberate rather than ambitious: rather than chasing big prizes, they look for smaller fields where she can get to the front and control the pace. It is a smart strategy for a horse whose main weapon is setting a tempo others cannot sustain.
She is at her best over distances between a mile and one furlong and a mile and two furlongs, winning 6 of 10 races at those trips — 60% — and she clearly prefers normal ground, winning 5 of 8 races in those conditions, or 62%. Wet or very fast ground seems to take the edge off her. The most recent win came at Musselburgh just days ago, keeping her right at the top of her form.
Racing at Class 4 level — solidly mid-tier competition in Britain — she wins 1 in 5 at that grade, which actually undersells her because her recent wins have come in good style. The key question as she keeps winning is how much the official ratings catch up with her. Brown flagged it himself after Beverley: the handicapper will close the gap eventually. For now, though, Two B Tanned is doing what good horses do — winning races before anyone works out how to stop her.
