That something arrived at Southwell in March 2026, a first career win after a long wait. Then, just six weeks later, Tuscan Point went back out and won again at Lingfield Park at the end of April — and has raced as recently as yesterday. That recent form reads 4-2-1-2-5-2, which in plain terms means Tuscan Point has finished outside the top three only once in its last six outings. That is the kind of consistency that gets people interested.

The ground matters here. On normal conditions, Tuscan Point has won 2 of just 5 races — a 40% win rate, which is a genuinely striking number at any level of the sport. Most horses in training never win 4 in every 10 races on any surface, under any conditions. It also does its best work over the shorter distances, between five and six-and-a-half furlongs, where it has won both its races from 12 attempts — around 1 in every 6 at that trip. Short, sharp, fast-ground racing suits this horse.

What is slightly puzzling is the record with jockey Oisin Orr — 0 wins from 6 races together, even during a period when Tuscan Point has clearly been in form. That is not necessarily damning; horses and jockeys can simply be mismatched in style, and Orr has still been steering the horse into plenty of placed finishes. Adam Kirby's yard has sent out 6 winners already this season, so there is no shortage of confidence in the operation.

Tuscan Point is not a star. It competes mostly at Class 4 level, which is solid, mid-tier racing rather than the showpiece events. But a horse that wins 2 in every 5 races on its favoured ground, has hit form at exactly the right time of year, and raced just yesterday? That is a horse worth watching.
