That is genuine form at a particular trip, the kind of pattern that trainers notice and plan around. At other distances, Truth Be Told struggles to find the same rhythm, which suggests there is a real physical preference at play here rather than random luck. Over the last six races, the horse has been genuinely competitive: two wins, a first place, a second place, a fourth, and a sixth. That is not the record of a no-hoper, even if it is not that of a top-class performer either.
