Trained by Sheila Lavery at her yard in Summerhill, County Meath, Tintinabulla is part of a small but active operation that has sent out three winners already this season. Lavery is one of the relatively rare women training at the top level in Irish racing, and her yard has a reputation for patient, considered horsemanship. Whether Tintinabulla is one of those horses that needs time and the right opportunity remains to be seen — it ran just yesterday, so the yard are clearly not short of ambition.
The recent form makes for mixed reading: 13th, a missed run, 8th, and 14th. The gap in the record is worth watching — horses are sometimes pulled out of races for good reason, whether that's ground conditions, a minor setback, or simply waiting for the right race. That single placing from four attempts is the one flicker of promise in an otherwise quiet career so far. At three, there is still room for improvement, but Tintinabulla will need to find a gear it hasn't shown yet to start troubling the judge.
