What is encouraging is that Taskheer proves competitive at Class 6, the lower tier where it belongs. At that level, it has won 4 of 18 races — a win rate of roughly 22 percent — which shows it can beat the horses around it when things click. The partnership with jockey Joshua Bryan is similarly promising: Bryan has ridden Taskheer eight times and won twice, a 25 percent win rate that is significantly better than the horse's overall average. That suggests there is a viable formula here.

The yard of Gary and Josh Moore, based in Lower Beeding, West Sussex, is doing strong work this season with 99 winners so far, so there is no shortage of expertise in the corner. Taskheer made its winning debut at Lingfield Park in March 2023 and has returned there successfully — that is also where it struck most recently in February 2025. The pattern is clear: at Lingfield, racing in Class 6, with Bryan in the saddle, this is a horse that can still do its job. The challenge is finding that exact combination again quickly before the layoff becomes a bigger problem.
