That kind of steady midfield running, repeated over and again, is the pattern of a horse that slots into races reliably but rarely finds the extra pace needed to win. Most of those recent races have come at Class 6 level — the lowest tier of racing — where you would expect an older horse with experience to have found at least one victory by now.

The partnership with jockey Amie Waugh has been long and unsuccessful. Across 16 races together, they have never managed to get the horse into the winner's enclosure.
