The career highlight worth noting came at Wolverhampton on 12 May 2025 — a win that, at the time of writing, still stands as the most recent victory, now some 14 months ago. Before that, the first win came at Southwell in January 2025. So both career wins landed within a few months of each other, which perhaps represents the horse at or near its peak. Since then, six races have passed without a win, and the recent form — finishing sixth, fourth, eighth, fifth, eighth, eighth — shows a horse that occasionally threatens but cannot convert.

The partnership with jockey Finley Marsh is the most striking statistic here. Ten races together, zero wins. That is not necessarily a damning verdict on either horse or rider — plenty of factors influence a result — but it is the kind of number that makes you wonder whether a change might shake things up. Trainer Adrian Wintle, based at Westbury-On-Severn in Gloucestershire, has had a productive season with 30 winners from the yard, so the operation clearly knows how to get horses to win. Star Of Atlantis, however, has not yet found its moment under that combination.

Having raced just yesterday, this is a horse still very much in active campaign. With a career total of 2 wins and 5 places from 30 races — roughly 1 win in every 15 outings overall — the realistic expectation is a horse competing honestly at the lower end of the sport, occasionally threatening, occasionally finishing in the places. A third win is not impossible. It just requires things to fall right, and right now, that has not happened in a while.
