The two wins are an interesting pair. The first came at Southwell in January 2025, and the second at Wolverhampton in May 2025 — both all-weather tracks, which is worth noting. All-weather racing runs year-round on artificial surfaces, and some horses simply take to it far better than they do grass. Whether Star Of Atlantis is one of those is a question worth watching, because both career victories came indoors, so to speak.
Since that Wolverhampton win, the form has gone cold. The last six runs read 3-7-9-8-8-5, and there has been no victory in sight. A third-place finish is the best of it, and the more recent efforts — finishing eighth and ninth — suggest the horse is currently finding things tough. That said, it raced just one day ago, so the yard are clearly keeping it busy and hopeful.
The trainer, Adrian Wintle, operates out of Westbury-on-Severn in Gloucestershire, and the yard has had a productive season by any measure, sending out 28 winners. That is a healthy return for a stable of this size, which makes Star Of Atlantis something of an outlier within it. Regular rider Finley Marsh has been aboard eight times without finding the winner's enclosure together — 0 from 8 is a tough run for any partnership. At some point, something has to give. Whether that means a change of tactics, a different jockey, or simply the right race on the right day, Star Of Atlantis is clearly a horse its team believes still has a win or two left to find.
