Spirit of Mary

The recent form chart tells a story of a horse that runs well some days and struggles on others. In the last six outings, Spirit of Mary has recorded two third-place finishes alongside a fourth, a fifth, a seventh, and a ninth. That's the sort of mixed bag you see with juveniles still figuring things out. Trainer Ben Haslam's yard at Middleham Moor in North Yorkshire is a proper operation, having sent out 35 winners already this season, so the horse is in capable hands. At just 2 years old, Spirit of Mary still has plenty of time to develop, and those two placings suggest there is a racehorse in there somewhere.
