Spanish Voice has earned four wins from twelve career races, a 33 per cent win rate that would put most horses in the category of genuine winners, not also-rans. What lifts this record further is the horse's consistency: it has been placed six times beyond its wins, meaning it crosses the line in the money in a shade under one-third of its races.

The pattern of Spanish Voice's form reveals why Andrew Balding's Kingsclere yard has got so much from it. The horse thrives on normal ground — it has won two of four races when conditions are standard — and finds its sweet spot over the 1m3f to 1m4f range, where it has won two of three races. Put it at Newmarket on good ground over the right distance, and Spanish Voice becomes something close to a banker. The horse is active and racing regularly, and with a recent win to call upon, there is every reason to think this course specialist will add to its tally before the season is out.
