Sir Jeremy

Trained by Noel Meade at Castletown in County Meath, Sir Jeremy last raced just a day ago and continues to compete actively. His most recent form has been choppy: a third-place finish followed by another third, then a fifth, a solid first-place win, and another fifth in his last six outings. That win came at Galway two months ago and remains his most recent victory. It is worth noting that his jockey Adam Caffrey, who has ridden him nine times, has yet to steer him to success—something worth monitoring if the ride changes hands, given how much Sir Jeremy seems to depend on having circumstances break his way.

What makes this horse interesting is the contrast between his overall record and his ability at distance. He is not a consistent winner by any measure, but he clearly thrives when asked to run between a mile and three and a mile and four furlongs. Finding races at that exact distance and tracking his performance could be revealing. For now, Sir Jeremy remains a work in progress—a horse searching for the right combination of distance, ground, and perhaps a fresh partner in the saddle.
