The horse opened its account at Wetherby in March 2025 and has kept building from there. Most recently it won at Worcester in June 2025, and with a race just yesterday it is very much in active campaigning. The last six runs tell a slightly mixed story — two wins sandwiched between some mid-pack finishes — but horses that win 2 of their last 6 races are earning their keep, and Sir Galahad has done exactly that.

Two things really define this horse. First, it wants the distance. Over 2 miles or more, it has won 3 from 7 races — nearly 1 in every 2.3 — and that is a meaningful edge. Stamina is a genuine weapon, not a consolation. Second, it needs the ground to be right: on normal conditions it has won 4 of 7 races, a 57% win rate that is exceptional. Put it on wet or very dry ground and that number drops sharply, so conditions matter enormously when assessing its chances on any given day.

The partnership with Sean Bowen is worth flagging too. In six races together, Bowen has ridden Sir Galahad to 3 wins — a 50% win rate that is remarkable and speaks to a genuine connection between horse and jockey. Meanwhile, Olly Murphy's yard has sent out 146 winners this season alone, so this horse is being produced by one of the most in-form training operations in the country. When the trip is long, the ground is normal, and Bowen is in the saddle, Sir Galahad becomes a genuinely compelling proposition.
