The first win came at Sedgefield in late September 2025, and Owen was quick to point out afterwards that the horse works exceptionally well at home and had schooled cleanly over hurdles. He was clear about what Siouxfonic needed: decent spring ground, fast and dry underfoot. That is not a horse making excuses — that is a trainer who knows exactly what he has and is being patient with it.
The most recent win came at Wolverhampton in December 2025, and looking at his last six races in order — a ninth, then third, first, second, first, third — you can see a horse that has been consistently competitive even when not winning. Three top-three finishes around his two victories suggest he is rarely out of the picture. At Class 5 level, where most of his races have come, he has won 1 from 3 — a 33% win rate, which is a solid return at a competitive tier of British racing.
Owen's yard is in excellent form this season, having sent out 201 winners — a number that puts them firmly among the busier and more productive operations in the country. A trainer running at that volume tends to know which horses are ready and which are not, and the fact that Siouxfonic raced just one day ago suggests this is a horse being kept active and in good nick. He may be a work in progress, but the building blocks — a willing temperament, clean jumping, and a trainer who clearly rates him — are all in place.
