His happiest hunting ground is normal conditions underfoot, where he has won 2 of his 7 races — just under 1 in 3, which is a genuinely impressive ratio. It suggests he is a horse who goes best when the ground is predictable rather than testing. His career started to take shape in March 2024 at Southwell, and his most recent win came at Epsom Downs in August 2025, a course known for its famously twisting, undulating track — not a place where ordinary horses thrive, which makes winning there a small mark of distinction.

Since that Epsom win, though, things have gone quiet. He has not won in his last 6 races, and his most common level of competition — Class 4, which sits in the middle tier of British racing — has so far yielded nothing from 13 attempts. That is a frustrating record at a level he ought to be competitive at, and it is partly explained by trainer Eve Johnson Houghton. She revealed that the horse won at Salisbury and was promptly raised 9lb in the weights by the handicapper as a result — a significant penalty that effectively made life much harder for him overnight. He also underwent a wind operation, suggesting there may have been a breathing issue quietly holding him back. Johnson Houghton's yard has been in fine form this season with 42 winners, so she clearly knows what she is doing with him.

His regular partner Charles Bishop has ridden him 17 times and won just once together — 1 in 17, or around 6% — which sounds modest but reflects the difficult hand both horse and rider have been dealt by the weights. Silver Trumpet raced just one day ago, so he is very much in the thick of things. If the wind operation has done its job and the handicapper eventually cuts him some slack, he could still have a win or two left in him.
