The bloodline is solid: Sigma is by Blue Point, a sprinter who won at the highest level, and out of a Dalakhani mare, giving the horse a pedigree built for speed. With no prior form to judge, everything hinges on what Sigma shows on race day. There is always something special about watching a horse race for the first time — you either see a runner with genuine potential or one that will need time to learn the ropes. Either way, Eustace's team will have done their homework, and the fact that they're sending this one out at all suggests they think there is something worth backing.
