The bulk of Sea Of Charm's career has been spent in Class 6 races — the bread-and-butter tier of British racing, where most horses spend most of their lives. And within that world, it has been genuinely competitive: 5 wins from 28 races at that level, a win rate of around 1 in every 5 and a half, which is a solid return. Lingfield Park is clearly a favourite venue — that is where Sea Of Charm landed its first win back in November 2021, and where it picked up its most recent victory on Valentine's Day 2026. There is something pleasing about a horse that keeps coming back to a track it knows and performs when it matters.
The partnership with jockey William Cox is worth noting. In 13 races together, they have won 3 times — that is nearly 1 in every 4 rides, or 23%, which comfortably outstrips Sea Of Charm's overall win rate. When Cox is in the saddle, something about the combination clearly clicks.
That said, the current run of form asks questions. Six races without a win, with recent finishes of 5th, 8th, 6th, 7th, 6th, and 3rd — no disasters, no real threats either. The horse is still placing, still competing, but the winning thread has gone quiet since February. Trained by Georgina Nicholls at her Kingston Lisle yard in Oxfordshire — a team that has already sent out 11 winners this season — Sea Of Charm raced just yesterday, so it remains firmly in active service. Whether another win is around the corner is the open question, but a horse with this kind of record does not tend to stay winless for long.
