That is not a knock on the horse; Class 5 is where plenty of perfectly good horses spend their careers, and winning five times at any level requires ability, timing, and a bit of luck. What it does tell you is that School For Scandal operates in competitive, unpretentious company and generally does so reliably.

The last win came at Windsor in November 2025, around six months ago, and the six races since have produced a fifth, a fourth, two blanks, a third, and another blank — respectable appearances without a victory. At 11, that is not unusual. Older horses can take longer between wins, and the fact that this one raced just yesterday shows there is still enthusiasm in the yard to keep running.

Joe Tickle, the trainer based in Stoodleigh, Devon, has had a productive season — 20 winners sent out from a yard that, geography alone tells you, operates with a certain gritty independence rather than the scale of a big racing centre. His most regular partner for School For Scandal is jockey Taylor Fisher, who has won twice from 11 rides together — roughly 1 in every 5 or 6, which is actually a notably better return than the horse's overall average and suggests the pairing brings out something worthwhile.

School For Scandal will not trouble the record books, but a five-win career earned honestly over 42 races, still racing actively at 11, is its own kind of story. Some horses drift quietly out of competition; this one keeps turning up.
