Revich

What makes Revich worth watching is his particular affinity for Ayr. He has won two of his five races there, and the track seems to suit him in a way that others don't. More tellingly, when stepped up to Class 2 company—the upper echelon of races at his level—he has a respectable 13 percent record, winning three of 23 races. That suggests Adrian Wintle's team have found the right sort of race for this horse, even if the wins don't come often. Revich seems to perform best at distances between seven furlongs and a mile, winning one from nine races at those lengths.

The encouraging sign is that Revich is still active and still running at competitive level. His recent form shows a mix of third-place finishes and mid-field efforts—nothing spectacular, but nothing to suggest he has lost his way entirely. He hasn't won in his last six outings, which is a drought, but at ten years old and with the experience of over 40 races behind him, his place in the yard feels well-earned. Adrian Wintle's Gloucestershire operation has sent out 30 winners this season, and Revich remains part of their fabric, a horse who still knows how to compete even if the victories have become scarcer as the years go by.
