There are, however, moments of brightness in the record. Most striking is what happens at Chelmsford: Renesmee has won two of its four races there, a win rate of 50 percent at that track. That is genuinely impressive form for a horse at this level. The last win came in March 2026, five months back, which means it's been a while since the horse found the winner's circle — long enough to be frustrating for the yard but not so long as to suggest permanent decline. Distance-wise, Renesmee performs best between one mile and one and a quarter miles, winning five of 25 races (20 percent) at that trip, which is roughly double its overall win rate and worth remembering when the horse is entered.

The partnership with jockey Kyle McHugh is particularly interesting. McHugh has ridden Renesmee eight times and won three of those races — a 38 percent win rate — which is substantially better than the horse's overall form. That suggests real chemistry between rider and horse, and it's the kind of detail that makes the difference at a lower level. Trainer Michael Keady, based at Newmarket, runs a yard that has sent out 16 winners this season, so the infrastructure is solid even if Renesmee itself isn't a star. The next window to watch is whenever the horse heads back to Chelmsford, where the record speaks for itself.
