Redhot Whisper

The recent form tells an encouraging story. In the last six outings, Redhot Whisper has finished in the frame five times — second, third, and third again in the last three races alone. That kind of consistency at the sharp end suggests the breakthrough at Chepstow was not a fluke but the beginning of something. Trained by Adrian Wintle at Westbury-On-Severn in Gloucestershire, Redhot Whisper runs in a yard that has already sent out thirty winners this season, so there is clearly good horsemanship and knowledge at work here.

The one caveat is the level. Redhot Whisper has raced in Class 5 company — the lower tiers of British racing — and has won just once from those six attempts. This is a horse operating at a modest level, but that is precisely the point: he is competitive there, and his recent sequence of near-misses followed by a win suggests he is in the right place. At five years old with momentum building, Redhot Whisper looks like a horse finally running to his ability.
