Planet Seeker

The breakthrough came at Goodwood on 22 August 2025, a first career win that marked the beginning of something more than a flash in the pan. Just under a year later, Planet Seeker won again at Newmarket on 11 July 2026, showing it could deliver at one of the sport's most demanding tracks. That victory was two months ago, and since then the form has drifted: a fourth-place finish, then a third, a fourth again, a single place, and most recently a ninth. It is the kind of form that frustrates — capable one moment, anonymous the next.

Trained by Ralph Beckett at Kimpton in Hampshire, Planet Seeker is part of a yard that sent out 107 winners this season, so the infrastructure and expertise are clearly there. Beckett knows how to get the best from a three-year-old, but Planet Seeker will need to find more consistency and settle into a pattern if it is to justify the promise of that early win rate. The horse raced just a day ago, so it remains active and in work. Whether it can string together a run of good form or continues to alternate between bright moments and disappointment remains to be seen, but there is enough in the record to suggest this is a horse still learning its trade.
