Those two wins tell an interesting story about range. The first came at Newmarket in October 2022 — one of the most prestigious venues in British racing, a track where the best horses in the country run. The second arrived nearly two years later, at Galway in August 2024, a very different setting entirely. That gap of almost two years between wins speaks to how difficult it has been for Physique to find the right conditions and the right moment.

The sweet spot in terms of distance is clear: both wins have come at seven furlongs to a mile, and across 20 races at those trips, Physique has won 2 of them — a 10% win rate, or roughly 1 in every 10. That is meaningfully better than its overall record. Keep it in that range and at least the conditions are right.

The current form, however, makes for uncomfortable reading. Physique has not won in its last six races, and recent finishing positions of 15th, 11th, and 7th suggest a horse that has been struggling rather than threatening. The class level is also worth noting — at Class 3, one of the better tiers of domestic racing, Physique has run nine times without winning once. That is a wall it has simply never broken through.

Jockey Mohammed Tabti has been aboard for six of those races, winning once together — a win rate of 17%, or roughly 1 in every 6, which is actually the best ratio Physique has shown with any regular partner. The horse raced just yesterday and is clearly still active, so there may yet be another chapter. But with its last win now 22 months in the rear-view mirror, the clock is ticking on Physique finding a way back to the winner's enclosure.
