What makes Perseus Way genuinely interesting is his absolute dominance at Hamilton Park. He has won all four of his races there — a record that sticks out on any form sheet. Most horses have one track where things click; Perseus Way has made Hamilton Park his property. He last won there three weeks ago, and there is no mystery to his success: give him slightly soft or muddy ground and he comes alive. On wet conditions he wins one race in every two, compared to his baseline of roughly one in three overall. Distance also matters. Over his preferred range of a mile and six furlongs to two miles, he has won six of eleven races — a 55% win rate that is significantly better than his overall figures. Put those conditions together — soft ground, that distance, and Hamilton Park — and you have a horse worth watching.

The trainer Tristan Davidson, based at Irthington in Cumbria, has timed Perseus Way's races well this season, and the yard as a whole has been productive with twenty-one winners already. Jamie Moore has been in the saddle for two of Perseus Way's ten victories, though his record together with the horse stands at two wins from six rides. What makes the numbers add up is simple: Perseus Way knows what he likes, the yard understands what that is, and when the conditions stack in his favour, he delivers.
