The most recent win came at Goodwood just five weeks ago, on 12 June 2026, and that result matters more than it might first appear. Goodwood is one of Britain's most beloved and technically demanding tracks — a sweeping, undulating course on the Sussex Downs that sorts out horses with real ability from those just making up the numbers. Winning there as a 3-year-old is a genuine mark of quality. Before that, Perfect Location had broken its duck at Southwell back in July 2025, which is where plenty of young horses first find their feet. Going from a Southwell win to a Goodwood win is a meaningful step up, and Perfect Location took it in its stride.

The recent form figures — 5-1-8-7-2-6 reading from most recent back — tell an interesting story. There are some rough days in there, the 8 and the 7 suggesting races where things didn't click, but the 1 at Goodwood and a second place before that show a horse that, when conditions suit, can compete at a decent level. That inconsistency is not unusual in a 3-year-old still learning its trade.

Perfect Location is trained by Tom Ward, whose operation is based at Upper Lambourn in Berkshire — one of the great centres of British racing, a village on the Downs where serious yards have trained serious horses for generations. Ward's team has sent out 14 winners already this season, which points to a yard in good nick and confident in what it's running. Crucially, Perfect Location raced just one day ago, meaning it is fit, active, and very much part of the current picture. Whatever comes next for this horse, it arrives on the back of a Goodwood win and with a trainer who clearly knows where to place it to best effect. That combination is worth paying attention to.
