Trained by P J F Murphy out of Castlecomer in County Kilkenny, the five-year-old has built a respectable career across 35 races — 5 wins and 12 places in total, so it has finished in the frame nearly half the time. That overall win rate of 14%, or roughly 1 in every 7 races, is solid without being spectacular, but the Dundalk numbers lift the picture considerably. The yard has sent out 4 winners already this season, so it is a operation in form.

There is a noticeable pattern with ground conditions too. Perfect Judgement has won 4 of its 17 races on normal ground — that 1-in-4 rate again — and has struggled to reproduce that form when conditions change. If you were watching this horse with any serious interest, you would want to see normal conditions and Dundalk on the racecard at the same time.

The current form is the one cloud on the horizon. Perfect Judgement has not won in its last six races, and the recent figures — a seventh, a fourth, a twelfth, and a tenth among them — suggest a horse that is running consistently without quite finding the front. It last won at Dundalk in February 2025, which is now 16 months ago. Regular jockey Jack Kearney has yet to get the horse into the winner's enclosure in seven attempts together, which is a run that will be on both their minds.

Racing just yesterday, Perfect Judgement is clearly still active and still competing. The talent is obviously there — four wins at one track is not a fluke — but the question now is whether it can rediscover the sharpness that made it so effective at Dundalk. A return there on decent ground would be the obvious occasion to find out.
