Pebble Dash

The recent form makes for interesting reading in its own way. Four fourth-place finishes in the last six races, with one alarming slide back to 13th in between, paints a picture of a horse that usually turns up and does its job to a point — but no further. Racing at Class 6, which is the entry level of British racing, Pebble Dash has still not managed a win from seven attempts at that level. That is the bottom rung of the ladder, which makes the absence of a victory all the more striking.

But for anyone connected to this horse, the wait for that first win is starting to feel like a long one.
