Win rate and top-3 rate will show once this horse has raced.
The pedigree offers some encouragement. Oyster Cottage is by Blue Bresil, a decent sire with winners to his name, and out of a mare by Milan, which suggests some racing blood in the family. Nothing spectacular on paper, but solid enough breeding for a horse joining a yard in real form. John McConnell's Stamullen stable has sent out 36 winners already this season, so Oyster Cottage is arriving somewhere with genuine momentum and the kind of experienced eye that knows how to bring a five-year-old into racing properly. McConnell is not a trainer throwing everything at the wall — he has already proven his yard can identify and prepare winners this year. That counts for something when a completely untested horse steps through the gates for the first time. We will find out soon enough whether this late start was a calculated decision or simply how things fell out, but at least Oyster Cottage has landed in a place where the team understands what they are doing.
