Her last victory came at that track on 21 February 2025, but she has struggled to find the winner's enclosure since then — no wins in her last six races, though she has picked up a couple of places. She was last out just a day ago, finishing seventh, which suggests trainer Gemma Tutty is keeping her ticking over and searching for the right spot. According to her trainer, Ormolulu came close to winning at York last summer but found herself blocked in the running, unable to get a clear path through the field when it mattered. That kind of bad luck — being able but thwarted — is part of racing, and it does not change what the horse is capable of. Tutty has spoken about aiming her at some quality opportunities, with York back in the plans, suggesting there is confidence that she can win again at a decent level, particularly in Class 4 races where she has won two of 16 attempts.

Saffie Osborne has been her most frequent partner, riding her 13 times and winning twice. It is a partnership that works but is not dominant; other jockeys might find opportunities too. Tutty's yard at Osmotherley has been in good form this season, and Ormolulu has a comeback run in her legs. If she can rediscover the Southwell magic — or if the trainer can unlock her potential elsewhere — she has plenty of racing left in her.
