One Million Dreams

The most recent win came at Brighton on 31 August 2025, which is now 10 months ago and already feels like a distant memory given recent form. The last six races read 6-9-9-10-3-11 — a sequence that includes one bright spot, a third-place finish, sandwiched between a lot of mid-field and tail-end efforts. That kind of form is hard to get excited about. The horse raced just yesterday, so whatever is coming next is already close, but the current trajectory doesn't make it easy to argue things are heading in the right direction.

The partnership with jockey Jack Quinlan hasn't clicked yet — zero wins from five rides together. That's not necessarily a damning verdict on either horse or rider, but it's a combination that is yet to find its best. Trainer A Watson, based at Upper Lambourn in Berkshire, is clearly a yard in decent form this season with 62 winners sent out, which at least suggests One Million Dreams is in capable hands even if the horse itself hasn't been contributing to that total.

There is one sliver of genuine encouragement buried in the stats. At distances between a mile and three furlongs and a mile and four furlongs — essentially middle-distance races where stamina becomes a factor — One Million Dreams has won 1 from 7 (14%), which works out to roughly 1 in every 7 races. That's noticeably better than its record at shorter trips, and it's where both of its career wins have come. Equally telling is its record at Class 5, which is the level it races most often: zero wins from six attempts. For a horse that has shown it can win, failing to convert at the lowest end of the scale is the kind of stat that keeps its team searching for answers.
