Both of those wins came in the summer of 2025 — first at Lingfield Park in late June, then at Brighton at the end of August — which suggests this is a horse that found its feet in the warmer months and made the most of it. Brighton in particular is a quirky, undulating track on the Sussex coast where horses either take to it or they don't, so getting a win there is worth noting. The trouble is, that Brighton success is now nine months in the rear-view mirror, and the last six races have produced nothing better than a third place, with a couple of finishes down in ninth and tenth that suggest things have not been going smoothly.

What makes the recent form harder to read is the presence of a gap in that sequence — marked as a blank in the record — which hints at a missed race or a break at some point along the way. The current jockey partnership with Jack Quinlan has not clicked either: five races together and no wins between them, which is a combination still searching for its moment.

One Million Dreams runs in Class 5 races, which sit towards the lower end of the racing ladder, and has yet to win at that level from six attempts — a curious fact given that both career wins presumably came from somewhere. The horse is trained by Archie Watson at Upper Lambourn, a yard in strong form this season with 65 winners already on the board, so the support structure is not the problem. With a race just yesterday, this is clearly a horse still being kept busy and still being given chances. Whether a third win is coming is another question — but at six years old, with a yard this active behind it, there will be more opportunities to find out.
