The early promise came at Bath on 6 September 2023, when North View broke through for a first career win. That breakthrough is still the platform on which the horse's record rests: three wins from 31 attempts means two of those victories have come since. The latest of those, at Chelmsford on 11 January, now feels like a distant memory. Trained by Tony Carroll at Cropthorne in Worcestershire — a yard that has sent out 136 winners this season — North View competes mainly in Class 4 races, where it has won 2 from 16, a 12% win rate that at least sits above its overall average.

The horse shows clear preferences. On fast, dry ground, North View's record improves markedly: 2 wins from 10 races, a 20% success rate that is double its overall figure. Run it over 5 furlongs to 6 and a half furlongs, and the picture is similarly encouraging: 1 win from 5 races at that distance. The challenge for Carroll and his team will be engineering races that tick both boxes — the right ground, the right trip — and hoping that North View can rediscover the form that brought success in early 2026. As it stands, the horse is in the midst of a dry spell, but the data suggests that when conditions align, there is still a winning horse in there.
