When John and Rhys Flint took her on from Phil Kirby's yard, the trainer was immediately struck by her temperament — a lovely-natured horse, he said, who had simply bounced around a few different stables without ever quite fulfilling her potential. Flint, based in Kenfig Hill in Bridgend, has sent out 8 winners this season and clearly felt he could unlock something. He was confident of getting a win with her, and he was right. Her first win for the yard came at Chelmsford on 31 August 2024, and that track has since become something of a home from home — she has now won twice from 6 races there, a 33% win rate at that course alone against a career average of 10%. Courses suit certain horses for reasons that aren't always obvious, but when a horse keeps returning to the same place and keeps performing, it matters.
Jockey Jonny Peate has also proved to be a useful key. In 6 races together they have won twice — that's 1 in every 3 rides, a remarkably high ratio compared to her overall record. Finding the right combination of horse, track, and rider is one of racing's small puzzles, and this one appears to have been solved.
Her recent form tells a story of genuine momentum. Over her last six races, reading from oldest to most recent — a win, then a second, then sixth, then back to first, then two fifths — there is a horse that is consistently in the mix. Her most recent win came at Bath just eight weeks ago, and she raced again only yesterday, suggesting the team are keeping her active while she is in form. She tends to operate at Class 5 level, the bread-and-butter tier of British racing, and over distances of a mile and a furlong to a mile and two furlongs she has found winning harder — just 1 from 6 at those trips — but her current trajectory suggests a horse running with confidence. Right now, Nammos is one to keep an eye on.
