The fact that Music Academy hasn't joined that tally yet isn't necessarily a reflection of the team's work — some horses simply take longer to find their moment, and at three years old, the clock hasn't run out yet.
What's harder to ignore is the recent trajectory. Looking at the last six races in order from most recent, the finishes read 11th, 6th, 7th, 3rd, 9th — a pattern that is difficult to put a positive spin on. That third place stands out as a genuine bright spot, but the races either side of it suggest a horse that hasn't been able to build on it. Racing just one day ago, Music Academy is clearly being kept busy, and the yard will be hoping that somewhere in the remaining months of the season, something finally falls into place.
