Knight acquired Motazzen from the Shadwell dispersal, a well-regarded source of bloodstock, and he arrived having won twice in France for Jean-Claude Rouget. The trainer spotted something in him worth developing, noting that he appeared to have more speed than he had shown previously—a sign of a horse that needed the right conditions and placement to excel. At his best, he proves this is true. Fontwell Park is his domain: he has won 3 of his 8 races there, including a victory as recently as late March 2026, meaning he remains an active threat at the track.

His record in the top class races is limited—he has won a Class 2 race at Nottingham back in September 2023—but he typically competes at Class 5, where he wins at a respectable 17% rate (3 wins from 18 races).
