Moral Compass makes her racecourse debut at four years old, which is notably late for a first outing. The horse is by Goliath Du Berlais out of a Kapgarde mare, combining bloodlines from two horses with proven racing pedigree. He will race for the first time under trainer
Harry Derham, who runs a successful operation from Upper Lambourn in Berkshire. Derham's yard has already sent out 57 winners this season, suggesting a team with form and know-how. With no prior races to judge her by, Moral Compass remains an unknown quantity, though the fact that the yard have waited this long before sending her to the track suggests they may have seen something worth backing their judgment on.
