Mooj

The recent form tells an interesting story. Reading from earliest to most recent, Mooj went third, fifth, ninth, and then sixth last time out — which, on the face of it, looks like the wrong direction. But horses at this stage of their career are often still figuring things out, and four races is a very small sample. What it does tell us is that Mooj is in the mix and racing regularly, with a run just yesterday keeping it sharp and race-fit.

The yard behind Mooj is no small operation. Jack Jones, based in Newmarket — the historic home of British flat racing, where the gallops and the gossip are taken equally seriously — has sent out 33 winners already this season. That kind of output means Jones knows how to get a horse ready to perform, and when a stable of that quality keeps running a horse, it usually means they believe there is something worth developing. Mooj may not have won yet, but it hasn't been forgotten either.
