Monsieur Bondy

His form has been choppy lately. Over his last six races, he finished first just once, but has mixed in some lower placings too — several runs outside the top 3 buried in there. That's typical of a middling horse who can produce a decent day but isn't consistent enough to rely on. Yet the fact that he won at Southwell this week, after raced just a day ago, suggests he is still active and still trying. His first career win came at Redcar back in August 2025, so he has been knocking around the lower levels for well over a year now.

Geoff Oldroyd's yard at Pocklington has saddled 13 winners this season, so there is some form in the stable. Monsieur Bondy remains a modest performer — his three wins place him among the bread-and-butter earners rather than anything special — but he is a horse who has found the winners' enclosure enough times to suggest he knows what it takes. For a horse at this level, winning roughly one race in three is a perfectly decent day's work.
