Trained by C Hills at Lambourn, Mitbaahy is a sprinter with an unusual gift: he thrives on normal ground. On firm, fast surfaces he wins roughly 43 percent of the time — 3 wins from 7 races — a win rate that stands out sharply against his overall record. The track matters too. He loves Chester's tight, easy layout; his wins there and at Newbury and Sandown across 2022 and 2023 suggest he has always had the talent. What shifted recently is consistency. His last six races show scattered form: a third place followed by a second, then a fifth, twelfth, second, and eleventh. That's the kind of pattern that tells you a horse is still fighting but struggling to find peak condition or the right race.
