Many Men

The numbers at the top level are particularly striking. Trained by Jim Boyle out of Epsom, Many Men has run five times in Class 2 races — some of the best non-championship races in Britain — and won two of them, a 40% win rate that most horses at this level could only dream of. For context, winning 2 from 5 against that quality of opposition is the kind of record that marks a horse out as genuinely smart rather than just a useful animal padding his numbers against weaker rivals. Boyle's yard has sent out 22 winners already this season, so this is a team in form, and Many Men fits the profile of a horse being placed very deliberately.

The two Class 2 wins tell their own story. He broke his duck at Newmarket in October 2024 — one of the most demanding, windswept tracks in Britain, where horses without real quality rarely win — and then followed that up with another Class 2 success at Doncaster in June 2025. His most recent win came at Ascot, which rounds off a hat-trick of victories at three of British racing's most prestigious venues. That is not an accident of scheduling.

Where he is particularly dangerous is when stepped up to a mile and three or four furlongs. Over that distance, he has won 2 of his 3 races — a two-in-three record that suggests this is genuinely his sweet spot. Horses often have a distance where everything clicks, and for Many Men, it appears to be right there.

His recent form reads 4-4-2-1-8-1 — two wins, three placed efforts, and one poor run sandwiched in the middle. He raced just yesterday, so he is clearly robust and in a rich vein. A horse who wins 29% of his races overall (roughly 1 in every 3.5 starts) and who routinely takes on the best company available is one worth following closely. At four years old, Many Men looks like a horse still very much on the rise.
