On faster ground, the picture changes entirely. That kind of specificity matters because it tells you exactly when to pay attention and when to look away.

Fontwell Park is Majestic Moment's true home. The horse has won twice from five races there, most recently on 24 April — five months ago now. That Fontwell form is genuine. The harder races tell their own story, though. Asked to compete at Class 4 level, the top tier of competition, Majestic Moment has not managed a win in three attempts. It is a horse that thrives against decent opposition at the right track, with the right jockey, on the right ground. All three have to align.

With its last race just one day ago, Majestic Moment remains active. Dean Summersby's yard, based in Devon, is a modest operation that has sent out five winners this season. The combination has its limits — this is not a horse for the big days — but within them, it knows exactly where to win.
