Her two wins have come at opposite ends of the summer and at very different venues. The first arrived at Chelmsford in August 2025, one of Britain's all-weather tracks, suggesting she handles an artificial surface. The second came at Sandown Park in September — a proper, well-regarded course on the outskirts of London, and a notably trickier test. Winning there carries a little extra weight. Both victories point to a horse adaptable enough to perform in different environments, which is not something every horse at this level can claim.
She is trained by Charlie Fellowes at Newmarket, and the yard has been in decent nick this season with 17 winners on the board. Fellowes operates out of one of British racing's great centres, surrounded by some of the best facilities in the country, and his team clearly has Maeva fit enough to race — she lined up just one day ago. The recent form reading of 5-1-1-4-3-4 shows a horse that hit a purple patch across August and September with back-to-back wins, and has since found things a little harder. The last run was a fifth, so there is clearly a question about whether she can rediscover that mid-season sharpness.
She competes mostly at Class 5, which is the bread-and-butter level of British racing — competitive enough, but not where the big prizes are handed out. At that level she has won 1 from 5 races, or 20%, which is a perfectly solid if unspectacular record. The task now is to string some form together again and remind people what she looked like when she won two on the bounce. That version of Maeva is worth following.
