The recent form tells an interesting story. Reading the last six results from most recent backwards — win, seventh, second, third, win, second — you can see a horse that dipped through a rough patch in the middle but has come back sharper at either end. That seventh-place finish stands out as the one blot, sandwiched between a string of placed efforts and a pair of wins. Plenty of horses have one run that doesn't reflect their ability, and this one appears to have moved past it. The most recent race, at Down Royal just this week, ended in a victory — so Madbadanddangerous heads into the immediate future on the back of a win and in form.
The horse is trained by Noel Meade at his yard in Castletown, County Meath, one of Irish racing's most experienced and respected operations. With 42 winners sent out already this season, the yard is clearly in excellent health, and Madbadanddangerous looks like one of the horses doing its share of the lifting. Meade has a long track record of developing young horses patiently, and a 3-year-old with this kind of early record is exactly the sort of animal a yard like his will be pointing at bigger targets as the season continues.
First career win came at Naas in September 2025. Now, less than a year later, the horse has added a second at Down Royal. The upward curve is there, the consistency is there, and with youth still very much on its side, it is not hard to see why this one has people paying attention.
