Love At Sea

The recent form makes for interesting reading. Going back through the last six runs — sixth, first, second, tenth, third, fifth — there's a proper win sandwiched between some decent efforts and the odd disappointing day. That victory came at Cork in August 2025, and it's the most recent win on the card. The question now is whether Love At Sea can pick up where it left off, because this horse hasn't raced for roughly six months. A long break can go either way: a freshened horse sometimes returns sharper, but ring rust is real, and the first run back often tells you more than the result suggests.

Regular rider Mr John Reddington has been in the saddle for seven of the 15 career races, winning once together — a 14% win rate, or 1 in every 7 rides as a partnership. That's not far off the horse's overall average, which suggests they suit each other reasonably well without the combination being a golden ticket. Trainer Edward F Power has had five winners out this season, so the yard is in form, which is always a good sign when a horse returns from a break — it means things are going right at home.

The first career win came at Sligo back in August 2024, and the second followed almost exactly a year later at Cork. Two wins in twelve months, both in summer, might just be a coincidence — but it's worth keeping in the back of your mind that this horse seems to save its best for the warmer months.
