The horse's last win came at The Curragh exactly a year ago, which is now a significant drought. Loingseoir has raced six times since and not finished better than fourth, most recently trailing home in eighth place just a day ago. For a horse that has spent most of its career in the same yard — M C Grassick's operation at Curragh, in Kildare — this stretch without a victory will be frustrating for the team. The yard itself is having a decent season with six winners already, so Loingseoir remains part of an active, functioning outfit rather than a struggling one.

Danny Sheehy has been Loingseoir's most regular partner, though the numbers suggest they have not quite found a rhythm together. Sheehy has won once in ten races aboard the horse, a fraction that mirrors the overall picture: present but not dominant. Interestingly, Loingseoir's only other win besides the drought-breaker at The Curragh came way back in October 2021 at the same track, suggesting there is something about that course that suits the horse — or perhaps just luck of the draw over a long career. The Curragh remains its only winning venue, a minor distinction but the sort of detail that trainers and jockeys study. At ten years old and currently still racing, this horse is a journeyman: honest, familiar, not going anywhere fast.
