That solitary win came at Listowel on the 1st of June 2025, and it remains the one moment where everything clicked. It arrived at a distance of seven furlongs to a mile, which is where Liamo is most at home. Over that range, the record reads 1 win from 11 races — still only 9%, or just under 1 in every 11 — but at least there is a win in there, which is more than can be said for the other distances tried. The problem is that win is now roughly 12 months old, and the six races since have produced nothing better than a third place. The recent form figures of 6-15-14-4-5-3, read from most recent backwards, tell the story plainly: a couple of respectable efforts mixed in with some difficult days, and nothing that suggests a winner is imminent.

The partnership with jockey Paddy Harnett has been given every chance to click — they have ridden together 11 times — but the pair are still waiting for a first win together. That is not necessarily a damning statistic on its own; plenty of horses win with one jockey and run well without winning alongside another. But 11 races is a decent-sized sample, and the absence of a result does add a layer of curiosity. Walsh's yard has sent out three winners this season, so the horses are running in good enough form generally. Whether Liamo can add to that tally is the open question.
