The first career win came at Kempton Park in April 2025, and the most recent at Chester in September 2025 — two very different tracks, which suggests Knights Gold is adaptable rather than a horse that only thrives in one specific set of circumstances. Chester in particular is a tight, unusual circuit that can catch horses out, so winning there is worth noting. At Class 5 level — the bread and butter of British racing — Knights Gold has won 3 from 9, again that one-in-three rate, which is genuinely impressive at any level.

What complicates the picture is the recent form. The last six races read 5-3-3-9-5-10, meaning Knights Gold has not won in any of them, and that last-place finish is a little jarring. However, there are two third-place finishes and a fifth in there, which suggests the horse has been competitive rather than struggling badly. Sometimes a horse goes through a patch where it finds one or two too good — that is racing. The bigger question is whether another win is coming, and given that Knights Gold raced just one day ago and is clearly being kept busy, the team evidently believe there is more to come.

One curiosity worth flagging: Hollie Doyle, one of Britain's most celebrated jockeys, has ridden Knights Gold five times without a win between them. That is not necessarily anyone's fault — timing and race conditions play a huge role — but it is a combination that has yet to click.
