What makes her interesting, though, is that there are clear signs she has a level where she is genuinely competitive. In the sort of lower-tier races where she usually competes — Class 5 affairs — she has won one from three, a win rate of 33 percent. More telling still is her form over her preferred trip of between seven furlongs and a mile: one win from eight races, or 12 percent, which shows she runs much better when the distance suits. She is trained by Charlie Johnston at Middleham Moor in North Yorkshire, a yard that has sent out 131 winners this season and knows how to get the most out of its runners. With a recent run just yesterday, she remains active and in work, and while the fourteen-month drought is real, she is a horse that has shown she can win — the trick now is getting her back to the conditions that made her dangerous.
